GE Aviation in Nantgarw is supporting local charity Prostate Cymru, the leading prostate health charity in Wales supporting men with benign prostate disease and prostate cancer. The charity aims to raise awareness, promote understanding of prostate diseases in Wales and fund both the latest medical equipment and training of healthcare professionals. Over the next year, GE Aviation will work together with the charity to support its fundraising events and raise awareness.
GE Aviation is a world-leading provider of commercial, military, business and general aviation jet and turboprop engines and components as well as avionics, electrical power and mechanical systems for aircraft. GE Aviation Wales in Nantgarw specialises in the maintenance, repair and overhaul of a range of commercial jet engines including the GE90, the GP7200 and CFM56 engines. In 2017, the Nantgarw site was selected as the GE maintenance, repair and overhaul facility for the GE9X, the world’s largest and most fuel-efficient jet engine.
GE Aviation’s first show of support for Prostate Cymru will be a Big Breakfast in November. The Big Breakfast is a fun, social event that can be held on any day in November where fundraisers are encouraged to host a breakfast event, either at their home or in the workplace. GE Aviation is keen to raise awareness of prostate diseases and in particular prostate cancer by their participation in this event.
