How much does it cost to enter?
£35 Registration before (Early Bird Fee) deadline.
£45 Registration on the day
What’s included in your registration fee?
- Event pack including information booklet, sponsor form, wristband & pin badge.

I have registered to take part in the event. How do I know my entry has been received?
When you register online you will receive a confirmation email shortly afterwards from British Cycling & Prostate Cymru.
When do entries close?
Entries online will close 2 weeks prior to the event (July 30th) or when the total number of spaces have been allocated. We limit the number of spaces purely for health & safety.
I have entered but I am unable to take part. Can I get a refund?
Entry fees cannot be refunded. This is a contribution towards the administration costs of putting on The Big Cycle.
How many routes are there?
There are two separate routes.
What are the route distances?
Short Route (54 miles)
Long Route (72 miles)
How old must I be to register?
Anyone aged under 16 years must get permission to take part from their parent or guardian before registering. Any children attending should be accompanied by a registered participant and are the sole responsibility of the accompanying adult.
Is there a cut off time?
The official cut off time for this year’s event is 5pm. This time has been set at the discretion of the event organisers.
How much do I have to raise?
By participating, cyclists are pledging to raise a minimum of £50 in sponsorship monies that they will forward to Prostate Cymru no later than 6 weeks after the event (24th September 2023).
Is there toilets and bag storage facilities?
There will be a designated tent for bag storage at (HQ), this will be supervised throughout the event. There will also be toilet facilities for men and women.
What is the best way to fundraise?
You will be sent instructions via email when you have registered. Our preferred fundraising platform for The Big Cycle event is Enthuse.

Please make sure you include your name as a reference when donating on the general event page so we can record your sponsorship accurately.
Important Note: Prostate Cymru has no association with Prostate Cancer UK. It is an independent charity based in Wales for the benefit of men living in Wales. Make sure you select the correct charity when setting up your page.
Our event page link and QR code will be found on your information booklet that we send to you prior to the event via post.
Gift Aid
Donations from all UK tax payers are eligible for Gift Aid. By adding this to your donation, we can reclaim 25% extra on top of your support from the taxman, at no extra cost to you.
This means we can reclaim 25p for every £1 donated to us.
Bank Transfer
You can pay in your sponsorship monies via bank transfer.

Will photos and videos be taken on the day?
Yes, we have professional photographers and a videographers on the day of the event. If you don’t want your picture to be taken please make sure you speak to a member of the events team before the event.
What time do I have to arrive & when does the event start?
The Big Cycle starts at 9am prompt, departing from East Lodge entrance, Margam Park.
We advise all cyclists to arrive for 8am to prevent delays at the registration desk at HQ.
How do I get to the (East Lodge) entrance?
If you are using a SATNAV the post code is: SA13 2TH. From the M4 or junction 38: Exit the roundabout onto the A48, head towards Pyle and after 1.5 miles take the left-hand turning sign posted Twyn-Yr-Hydd. Follow our event signage until you reach the large carpark (HQ).
Are there refreshments at HQ?
Refreshments will be available to purchase from our HQ. We do still recommend participants bring their own snacks and water.
