This January Prostate Cymru were thrilled to be the chosen charity for the Cardiff Devils X Fife Flyers Ice Hockey game.
On the 28th January at the Ice Arena Wales hosted the match that was raising vital funds to help support people in Wales with prostate disease and prostate cancer.
The game was a huge success with the Devils winning 7-1 against Fife Flyers.
All adults who attended the game received a prostate health assessment, along with our Awareness Team video being shown throughout the intermissions, as well as important facts and statistics being promoted on the Devils social media.
If these statistics or the health assessment alarmed you, please do remember we have a free and confidential Specialist Nurse here to help you on 08000 470 200, Monday – Friday, 4pm – 8pm.
Prostate Cymru’s Devils Ambassadors, Josh Brittain and Brodie Reid both played the game, with Reid scoring a point on the ice, and their game shirts were used as raffle prizes to support the charity.

Owen Pugsley, Corporate and Marketing Manager, said, “This was a fantastic night for Prostate Cymru, spreading the message about prostate cancer and the risks is so important for us as a charity and the Cardiff Devils support has been amazing. We can’t wait to continue to work with them throughout the year.”
Wesley the Walnut was spotted around the arena, having pictures with Devils fans, as well as visiting the famous Block 13 supporters.
The match raised awareness to a new host of people about the dangers of prostate disease and cancer.
With an audience of predominantly males, this is a particularly poignant partnership for the charity, and we can’t wait to continue the partnership with Cardiff Devils throughout 2023.
