On Saturday 7th July, our team hopped on ‘The Boys Bus’ and headed to Monmouth Show, an annual celebration of the county’s rural trades, talents and tastes. The family friendly event was held at the Monmouthshire Showground in Monmouth close to the Wales/England border. Prostate Cymru attended the event as part of the charity’s summer roadshow initiative, aiming to raise awareness of prostate diseases including benign prostate disease and prostate cancer across Wales over the summer months at events and festivals.
The team including Marketing & Events Owen Pugsley, Head of Awareness Dai John and Urology Nurse Janet Marty met hundreds of people from the local community and wider farming community in the hot sunshine. The team chatted about what the charity does, its events and prostate issues.
Saturday was also a busy day of sport with Kyle Edmund on centre court at Wimbledon against Serbian Novak Djokovic and England facing Sweden in the quarter finals of the World Cup in Russia. To accommodate fans who were attending the county show, the Monmouthshire Show displayed the football match on a large screen at the showground.
