The proceeds of an annual charity golf day were presented to Prostate Cymru at a special evening at Maesteg Golf Club on Friday 28th September. The organisers of the charity day and members of Maesteg Golf Club presented a cheque for £2250 to Prostate Cymru’s Head of Awareness Dai John and Marketing and Events Coordinator Owen Pugsley.
The presentation evening featured an interactive and informative prostate awareness session led by Dai John who had earlier in the day been speaking to members of the public about prostate health at ASDA in Bridgend. Other highlights included former Welsh rugby fly-half Phil Bennett sharing tales from his playing days and entertainment from top comedian Colin Price.
The annual golf day was held on Friday 13th July at Maesteg Golf Club. Organised by Gareth Holt, Kevin Grant and Chris Thomas and supported by Mr David Brace OBE, President of Prostate Cymru and Chairman of Dunraven Windows, the popular event saw over 30 teams take part in the 18-hole stableford competition. The day ran smoothly thanks to a team of volunteers. Following the golf competition, a gala evening was held in the function room of the club. The evening featured a charity auction, raffle, music and entertainment.
