On Friday 13th September, over 50 people attended a special Gardeners Question Time event for Prostate Cymru at Cottrell Park Golf Resort in St Nicholas. Guests enjoyed a glass of prosecco or orange juice on arrival which they enjoyed in the sunshine thanks to the beautiful weather on the day. Before the main event started, attendees got involved with some fundraising activities to support the charity such as a raffle, a game of luck to win a plant and guess the name of the gnome.
Spiros Caterers based at Cottrell Park treated those in attendance to a delicious afternoon tea with tasty finger sandwiches, jellies, cakes and scones. Guests also received Prostate Cymru goody bags with items kindly donated by a number of local businesses including Cardiff Life, Garden News, Wickedly Welsh Chocolate, Dr Organic, Neals Yard Remedies and Molton Brown.
Once everyone’s appetites were sated, the question time with the expert gardening panel commenced. Prostate Cymru’s ambassador Terry Walton hosted the panel and introduced each guest with one of his famous rhymes. Lynne Allbutt, Reg Moule and Gareth Davies answered a variety of gardening questions with a lot of enthusiasm, knowledge and useful tips. Terry also offered advice mixed in with some topical jokes which had everyone in good spirits.
