Get Involved In Newport

Are you keen to raise awareness of prostate issues such as benign prostate disease and prostate cancer in your local area? Perhaps you want to organise an event or support fundraising events in your region? Why not become a friend of Prostate Cymru by joining one of our regional friendship groups.

We are looking to set up a ‘Newport Friends of Prostate Cymru’ group for those in Newport and the surrounding areas who would like to support the charity. An initial meeting will be held in early December for all those interested in joining the group.

Prostate Cymru has received great support so far from the community in Newport and the larger Gwent area. In the last year alone, the charity has raised awareness at ASDA stores and subsequently been nominated for their Green Token scheme, been the nominated charity for a match at Newport County AFC and had the support of local companies such as HSJ Accountants and RPS Technology Solutions.

At a Prostate Cymru Friendship Group you have lots of fun, make new friends and meet other interesting, community spirited people. You don’t need any experience, just enthusiasm and the willingness to meet up regularly to organise and support the activities within your area. You can choose to focus on the areas that you are interested in. This can include helping increase public awareness of prostate diseases, organising fundraising events, supporting fundraisers in the community and representing Prostate Cymru at local events and cheque presentations.
