ASDA Caerphilly donated £500 to Prostate Cymru on Friday 1st November. The charity’s Community & Sports Officer Chris Leyshon accepted the cheque from store Community Champion Maggie Hughes. The generous donation was made to the charity for being the most popular nomination in the store’s green token scheme for the third quarter of the year (July, August and September).
Each year ASDA invests over £1.4 million in over 4000 good causes through their Green Token Giving programme, helping organisations and charities in stores’ local communities. The scheme is accessible and easy for customers to get involved with. Customers can visit their local ASDA store, collect their tokens from the cashier at the checkout and vote by placing green tokens into their chosen charity’s slot as they exit the store.
In the final quarter of the year customers can donate their green tokens to Prostate Cymru in ASDA stores in Blackwood, Newport and Newport Pillgwenlly.
