For the second year running Stephen and Audrey Phillips welcomed the local community to join them for breakfast at their popular Croesgoch Farm Stores in Pembrokeshire. The event was held as part of the Prostate Cymru all Wales Big Breakfast campaign in November and the magnificent sum of £2550 was raised.
Over 200 people turned up for breakfast from hungry farmers having already done a day’s work, to friends and relatives along with members of the local community who have given so much support to Prostate Cymru over the years.
Once again, the sum raised proved to be the biggest in West Wales which many attributed to the quality of the local bacon, the finest laying hens anywhere in Wales with grateful thanks to the local pig population for providing such tasty pork sausages.
A raffle and auction contributed to the final total also with one local farmer paying £500 for a rugby shirt signed by Sam Warburton. However, it must be said that much of the success of this event was because of the wonderful hospitality shown by the Phillips and Harries families and their standing in the community.
