Eifion Howells is a well-known dairy farmer in Carmarthenshire with a farm in Bancyfelin near Carmarthen. Eifion recently celebrated his 80th birthday party and he decided that instead of receiving gifts from family and friends they could make donations to Prostate Cymru which raised a superb sum of £3,410 for the charity
When presenting the cheque Eifion stated that even though he had not been affected by prostate cancer he knew so many who had been diagnosed with the disease and he felt that In contributing to Prostate Cymru it would allow more men in Wales to benefit from the work of the Charity.
Deric Rees the Chair of the Carmarthenshire Friends of Prostate Cymru in thanking Eifion said “By allowing donation’s for his birthday to be given to Prostate Cymru Eifion is a wonderful example of a person who wants to help others to combat prostate cancer and Prostate Cymru will use the money in improving awareness and funding innovations
