A charity night at Blaenrhondda Football Club raised an incredible £600 for Prostate Cymru, the leading prostate health charity in Wales. The night titled ‘An Evening With Ray Parlour’ took place on Saturday 16th November.
Blaenrhondda Football Club, based in Rhondda Cynon Taf, was formed in 1934 and currently plays in the South Wales Alliance League Premier Division. In addition to the charity night, the club are displaying banners at their grounds to raise awareness during their home matches. Members of the senior team have been wearing Prostate Cymru t-shirts to training and are displaying the charity’s logo on their playing kit.
The charity night featured former English professional footballer Ray Parlour. Ray entertained guests with tales of his career playing for big clubs such as Arsenal, Middlesbrough and Hull City. Local up and coming comedian Drew Taylor also entertained those attending with his wit and comic talents.
