Christmas came very early for the Pembrokeshire Friends of Prostate Cymru when they were presented recently with a cheque for £660 which was the money raised from the sale of garden plants throughout the summer at the front gate of the home of Stuart and Liz Beresford in Llangwm. They grew most of the plants themselves and were assisted in their endeavours by their close friends Stephen and Lynne Vincent-Davies.
The sale of plants outside the home of Stuart and Liz has become a regular feature in the community of Llangwm in recent years raising a considerable amount of money for charity. In presenting the cheque Liz Beresford said ”This year we decided that the proceeds would be donated to Prostate Cymru and we are very grateful to our community once again for generously supporting us and enabling us to raise so much money for such a deserving cause”.
They are seen here presenting the cheque to Paul Phillips and John Daniels who are committee members of the Pembrokeshire Friends of Prostate Cymru. Paul Phillips commented “We are very grateful to the two families for carrying out the plant sale and raising so much money towards the work of Prostate Cymru and their fight against Prostate Cancer which claims 550 lives and affects 1 in 8 men in the Principality. This money will be used to both raise awareness and obtain equipment to fight this disease”
