11 year old Cai James from Eglwyswrw, Pembrokeshire is holding a grand raffle in aid of Prostate Cymru, the leading prostate health charity in Wales. Cai will be selling tickets for £10 a strip on Facebook and in person throughout the year to raise funds for his chosen charity. The winners of the raffle, where there are 10 prizes to win including items from the Welsh Rugby Union, will be drawn in November this year.
The grand raffle is a continuation of his fundraising efforts which saw Cai, a pupil at Eglwyswrw Primary School, recognised as a nominee for Prostate Cymru’s Young Fundraiser of the Year award at the charity’s recent Ambassadors Lunch event. Cai was nominated in recognition of his contribution to the charity in 2018. Cai was inspired to raise money for Prostate Cymru in support of his grandfather Hayward Jones who is being treated for prostate cancer. He raised an incredible £1600 by making Christmas decorations, Welsh flag magnets and decorations and holding a Cawl a Chan at the Salutation Inn, Felindre Farchog.
In addition to raising funds, Cai is teaming up with the Pembrokeshire Friends of Prostate Cymru to raise awareness of prostate issues at the Cardigan Show on Saturday 3rd August.
