After a successful year with President Brian Beynon, Cefn Sidan Rotary Club were recently able to donate over £6,500 to local and national charities at a presentation evening on Tuesday 1st November. Prostate Cymru was once again one of the beneficiaries with £1385 being donated on the night. The cheque brought the club’s total proceeds from their Rotary Ride and other associated events to £1430. This followed in from the £6,500 donated in 2015 by the club to Prostate Cymru.
Also benefitting from the fundraising of the club were local organisations The Shogun Kick Boxing Club, Ail Gyfle Cancer Charity and Ty Golau. Earlier in the year, the club donated and erected a polytunnel for Pembrey CP School and donated Shelter Boxes to be used internationally in areas suffering from a disaster. These boxes contain everything for short-term sustenance including a tent, cooking facilities, tools and even children’s toys.
Cefn Sidan Rotary Club meets at The Ashburnham Hotel every Tuesday evening. The club are keen fundraisers who regularly support a variety of charities and Prostate Cymru is grateful for the club’s show of continued support.
