In a significant stride towards raising awareness about prostate health and offering support to those who may have concerns, Prostate Cymru’s Awareness Vehicle will be in ASDA Cardiff Bay Car Park for the month of October.
Throughout October we will be bringing together a team of dedicated professionals, including specialist nurses, to engage with the community, educate them about prostate health, and provide a welcoming space for open conversations.
This is the vans first stop in the mobile campaign, and it will be located at various ASDAs in the coming months across Wales.
For more updates on the Vehicles location follow our social media @ProstateCymru
As a charity we are dedicated to promoting awareness and understanding of prostate health in Wales, and the van is equipped with informative materials, resources, and a friendly team of experts ready to engage with the public.
Its presence at ASDA Cardiff Bay marks a unique opportunity for individuals to access crucial information about prostate health conveniently.
Speaking about the Awareness Vehicle mobile campaign, Tina Tew, Chief Executive at Prostate Cymru said, “We know that talking about prostate health can sometimes be an uncomfortable topic of conversation, but we hope that by providing accessible information and professional guidance we can break down the barriers that often prevent people from discussing prostate health.”
“Every 45 minutes a man in the UK dies of prostate cancer. That is a staggering statistic, and we hope that people in Wales take this opportunity to learn more about prostate health and be proactive in getting tested.”
The Prostate Cymru team is still looking for some volunteers to help out at the Awareness Vehicle, handing out leaflets and chatting to the general public. If this is something you would be interested in, please contact [email protected]
The team will not be administering PSA tests or any other medical procedures, however will be able to offer advice and support.
