On Friday 7th December Cor Meibion held their annual Christmas charity concert. The concert raised money for Prostate Cymru, the leading prostate health charity in Wales who support men with benign prostate disease and prostate cancer. Cor Meibion Taf was formed in 2004 and since their inception the ensemble has regularly performed at the National Eisteddfod, at the Principality Stadium before international rugby matches and on radio and television in Wales and abroad.
The festive concert was held at Penarth’s All Saints Church, marking the first time that the Welsh medium male voice choir has performed in the coastal town. The choir’s concert was warmly received by the people of Penarth with the choir performing to a full audience including special guest and Prostate Cymru ambassador Brynmor Williams in the church.
BBC and S4C presenter Owain Evans, who is also a member of the choir, acted as the compere of the evening guiding the audience through the programme which included festive favourites, carols and traditional tunes. The choir shared the stage with soloists Steffan Jones, Llinos Haf Jones and pupils from Ysgol Pen Y Garth, a local primary school.
