A special presentation night was held at Kenfig Hill RFC on Friday 10th May to celebrate the achievements of Tap It Out Cycle Club and the Nice 2 Rome cycle ride participants and their contribution to Prostate Cymru, the leading prostate health charity in Wales. Participants, supporters and guests including Prostate Cymru’s founder trustee Lyn Murray attended the evening which also included live music from singer Emily Jehu.
Members of Tap It Out Cycle Club have been organising big cycle rides for Prostate Cymru for over a decade. Their 2018 ride saw a team of 42 cycle from Nice, France to Rome, Italy over a week in September. Supported by Dunraven Windows, the team successfully completed the challenge of riding over 550 miles for the charity.
At the presentation evening the Nice 2 Rome cyclists presented founder trustee Lyn Murray and Chairman Andy Thomas with £50000, the funds raised by the ride for the charity. The club also celebrated their Special Recognition Award, presented to them a month earlier at the Prostate Cymru Ambassadors Lunch, with family and friends. The award was presented to representatives of the cycle club Nicky Morgan, David Lloyd and Ray Giles in recognition of the club’s dedication to supporting the charity over a number of years.
