Dinas Powys Rotary Club recently donated £2000 to Prostate Cymru, the leading prostate health charity in Wales. Charity volunteer Ian Norton was invited to a special presentation evening on Thursday 5th September at Dinas Powys Golf Club to receive the cheque on behalf of the charity. The funds were raised at the Vale of Glamorgan Classic Car Show organised by the club and other activities during Martyn Williams’ year in office as President.
The seventh annual Vale of Glamorgan Classic Car Show took place on Monday 27th May at the Sully Sports and Leisure Club. The family friendly, bank holiday event supported Prostate Cymru and Barnardo’s, the UK charity caring for vulnerable children and young people. The event showcased over 200 amazing classic cars and motorbikes. In addition to the main attraction of the vintage vehicles, there were exhibits, autojumble, merchandise, memorabilia, crafts, trade stands, refreshments and a fun fair.
Prostate Cymru is grateful for the continued support of the rotary club. Sixteen members of Dinas Powys Rotary Club previously completed a cycle challenge in 2017 for the charity. The challenge involved riding 110 miles from Calais, France to Bruges, Belgium.
