The Prostate Cymru team travelled to Llanrwst in Conwy county to raise awareness at the National Eisteddfod from 3rd to 10th August. During the week Corporate Events & Marketing Executive Owen Pugsley, Communications Assistant Catherine Felton and volunteer Amy Griffiths were joined by the charity’s Head of Awareness Dai John, Chief Executive Tina Tew and volunteers Zoe Tew and Dr Rhian Noble-Jones.
The charity’s stand, between craft firm Bodoli and Media Panel Wales, was visited by a number of different people throughout the week to learn more about prostate health and the charity’s work including broadcasters Jason Mohammad and Garry Owen and politicians Carwyn Jones AM and leader of Plaid Cymru Adam Price AM. The team had several good conversations about prostate health and the opportunity to extend our workplace awareness programme into more companies and organisations in North Wales.
A ‘Guess the name of the bear’ game ran throughout the week and raffle tickets were also sold for Cai James’ Grand Raffle. The charity’s mascot Wesley the Walnut had many adventures while exploring the Maes, becoming a citizen of Llanrwst and visiting a number of other stands including The Goodwash Company, Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board and Cardiff University to name a few.
