Eric Davies took on the incredible challenge of completing the Trail Marathon for Prostate Cymru and raised an incredible £925.
Eric completed the 26 mile Salomon Trail Marathon Wales route in the stunning trails and tracks of the world-renowned Coed y Brenin forest in the Snowdonia National Park.
Speaking after the race, Eric said, “Three months ago, I didn’t think I’d be running my ninth Trail Marathon Wales. When I was referred for an ‘urgent’ prostatectomy on 18 March, I assumed I’d be having surgery within a matter of weeks. But here I am today and I couldn’t be happier. “
He continued, “My training only picked up in mid-April, after I recovered from Covid, so I’ve put in a lot of effort to get myself fit for this. But it paid off: I’ve done a much better time than expected and feel fine.
“Today has been a wonderful gift. It’s been emotional – I’ve had loads of hugs and good wishes – and I wouldn’t have swapped it for the world.”
Eric’s training paid off and he finished the marathon in a fantastic 4.51.43!
