Roath and Tonypandy fire stations recently held charity car washes in aid of Prostate Cymru, Velindre and The Fire Fighters Charity. Twenty recruits, ten at each station, took part in the fundraising event for the three charities. The teams were visited by their mascot Blaze Bear and ate Dominos pizza to fuel themselves throughout the day.
South Wales Fire and Rescue Service presented the cheque for £476.72 to the charity’s Community & Sports Officer Chris Leyshon at the Cardiff Gate Training Centre on the afternoon of 18th July. The presentation coincided with the passing out parade of the recruits who took part in the charity event. The recruits have completed their training and are now members of the service.
