Do something different this Father’s Day weekend and take part in a Sanlam’s Go Dad Run!
The former Olympian and three-time world champion athlete Colin Jackson has recently launched his new charity fundraising venture, Go Dad Run and men from around the Cardiff area are being encouraged to sign up and get sponsored!
Sanlam’s Go Dad Run is something that Colin created himself and is a series of 5K runs for men and boys aged 14 and over that will take place in Cardiff, London and Birmingham on Father’s Day weekend June 14th and 15th to raise awareness of and funds for Prostate Cancer.
The inaugural Cardiff run is on Saturday, June 14th, in Bute Park and will be started by Colin and fellow Olympian Jamie Baulch.
Go Dad Run events start at 10.30am so that the men and boys who sign up, get sponsored and take part can run, walk or jog around the courses and still be home in time for lunch!
Colin successfully piloted the project last year in Anglesey and he decided to increase the locations to three major cities in 2014 as the event was inspired by the astonishing success of Race For Life and the aspiration is for Go Dad Run to eventually become the male equivalent of that amazing fundraiser.
Colin decided to create something positive that would help raise funds and awareness when two of his own uncles developed prostate cancer and only one survived.
