Emily England, 28, from Blaenllechau has been raising money for Prostate Cymru since January this year and has already raised over £2,200!
Emily hopes that the funds she raises will go towards helping to establish a da Vinci Robotic Urological surgery facility in the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.
Her initial target was £500 but she has already raised £2,200 through holding fundraising events such as the charity evening that she organised with Percy Beere of Anchor Lodge and her Grandfather Raymond Roberts who is also from Blaenllechau.
The event was held on the 2nd of May this year in aid of the cause at the Ferndale Imperial Club. The night which was host to two artists, bingo, raffle, and disco and was a huge success raising over £1,250 for the cause, which along with other funds she has raised created an astounding total of £2,200.
She said: ‘I have been humbled by the amount of support I have received from everyone, it’s been incredible!’
Emily will continue her fundraising by swimming in the Great North Swim on June 15th this year at Lake Windermere in the Lake District, which she will be doing alone to raise money for the cause.
