In recent years, Jon Llewhellin of Haverfordwest has done a sterling job introducing a generation of young rugby players in Pembrokeshire to the realities of prostate cancer and how it affects 1 in 8 Welshmen which becomes 1 in 3 if there is a family history of the disease.
Jon is a former regional development officer with the WRU but these days is a valuable member of staff in Sir Thomas Picton School in Haverfordwest.
Jon is connected with junior rugby at many different levels and for a number of years he has involved the young players in an element of fundraising from which Prostate Cymru has benefitted many times.
Along with a squad of players, who are all former pupils from the town’s two secondary schools, Jon is pictured handing over £300 to Brian Harries and John Daniels of Pembrokeshire Friends of Prostate Cymru at the Bristol Trader pub.
