A team from JW Morris in Bridgend challenged themselves on the first weekend of September in support of Prostate Cymru, the leading prostate health charity in Wales. Established in 1945 on the site of the Bridgend Royal Ordnance Factory, JW Morris, which is part of the Morris McLellan Group, is an electrical and mechanical engineering company providing installation, manufacturing and wholesaling services to industry and commerce for domestic and international clients.
The group of seven, led by operations manager Gareth David, completed the Welsh 3 Peaks challenge in 24 hours. The team, including Paul Treloar, Nathan Isaacs, Gareth Atkinson, Rhys Martin, Jack Haxley and Lee Turner, scaled Wales’ highest peaks: Snowdon in North Wales, Cadair Idris in Mid Wales and Pen Y Fan in South Wales, a total of 9397 feet (2864 metres).
The team have been committed to raising as much sponsorship as possible for Prostate Cymru to help men in Wales with benign prostate disease and prostate cancer. In addition to receiving donations online via JustGiving the enthusiastic team have been selling items such as badges, wristbands and keyrings. They also offered sponsorship packages to local businesses and suppliers for their logos to appear on livery and flags which were displayed and photographed at the summit of each peak.
