Prostate Cymru is thrilled to be chosen charity for Andrew Bowketts Captaincy at Llantrisant and Pontyclun Golf Club for the 2024/25 season.
This year will mark the third year that Prostate Cymru has been chosen as Captain’s Charity, with Russell Francis and Tony Robbins supporting the charity since 2022.
The club’s calendar is already brimming with events aimed at supporting Prostate Cymru and raising vital funds to help us fund innovation, support research, and educate men in Wales about the dangers of prostate cancer.
Kicking off the season is the much-anticipated Captains Drive-In Day scheduled for April 6th, where members and guests will gather to witness Bowkett’s inaugural drive, symbolising the commencement of his captaincy.
On June 1st, the club hosts the Llantrisant ‘Putt For Prostate’ event, where 10 members of the club will be taking on the epic feat of a 72-hole challenge.
As well as on the 27th of July, when members of the golf club will be taking part in the Captains Charity Golf Day, raising both funds and awareness for Prostate Cymru.
Speaking about the Captaincy, Andrew Bowkett said, “I am really looking forward to my Captaincy this year and supporting my chosen charity, Prostate Cymru. Through the Captaincy I hope that we are able to make people aware of the dangers of prostate cancer as well as raise money for Wales’ leading prostate health charity. I look forward to continuing the hard work of Russell and Tony in previous years, and helping save the males in Wales.”
Llantrisant and Pontyclun Golf Club have also supported us throughout the year providing prizes for our raffles and auctions, featuring awareness material in their member’s newsletters, and showcasing our branding throughout the club premises and along the scenic course.
Additionally, we have seen awareness sessions conducted in partnership with club associates like Nuair, spanning across their three sites. This has been instrumental in advancing our cause and raising awareness about prostate health.
We would like to thank Llantrisant and Pontyclun Golf Club, and their members, for their unwavering support.
Llantrisant Golf Club has significantly contributed to our mission at Prostate Cymru and we look forward to furthering the partnership this coming year.
