Lots of people have spent the long weekend over indulging and enjoying the fantastic weather – now it’s time to sweat it out in time for summer!
Now we have had a taste of sun it’s time to get in shape to make the most of this weather. Many find it easier to get fit when training for an event. So why not get fit and help Prostate Cymru raise funds and awareness?
We have a number of events to suit all from – walking, cycling and running. The 13th June will see the return of Wales’ biggest charity walk from the Millennium Stadium to Kenfig Hill RFC, almost 30 miles. Last year a group 60 fundraisers took part in this physical and mental challenge from the Millennium Stadium to their local rugby club in Kenfig Hill, Bridgend – a gruelling 9 hours and a distance of nearly 30 miles. Warren Gatland, Wales Head Coach and Prostate Cymru Ambassador, and Ospreys second row, Lloyd Peers were at the starting line to officially start the walk. The total amount raised was an outstanding £9,000.

Or are you a keen cyclist? Then we have just the event for you, the Five Valleys Gran Fondo. Whether you are a club, part of a club, an enthusiast or just a reasonably experienced rider. We fully recommend you add this event to your annual cycling calendar. The challenge that awaits you is run across two exciting courses. The route (72 miles), which starts at the historic and magnificent Margam Park, journeys East through Talbot Green, then North via the monstrous Bwlch road to Hirwaun, then heading West towards Cimla and back around to Margam. The event also has a second, shorter route (54 miles) which takes a similar path but cuts across from the Bwlch to Pont Rhyd Y Fen. Whichever route you choose we guarantee a great days cycling.

The 2015 Cardiff Half Marathon will take place on Sunday 4th October at 9am. The race starts outside Cardiff Castle running through Penarth Marina and Roath Park before finishing on North Road just outside the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
Prostate Cymru are looking for runners to take part. Each person is asked to raise £200 and will receive a t-shirt, wristband, nutrition tips and a training programme to help keep you on track.
