The Mansel Arms in Porthyrhyd, Carmarthenshire has chosen Prostate Cymru as their charity of the year. The pub, under the management of new landlord Glynn Bennetts, will be holding a number of fundraising events for the leading prostate health charity in Wales over the course of a year. Glynn and the team at The Mansel Arms are running a weekly bonus ball game in addition to dedicated evenings and events such as a Christmas party and beer festival.
The pub’s first large event is the Halloween Spooktacular party on Wednesday 31st October. Adults will receive a ‘Bloody Mary’ on arrival and have a choice of Halloween Ales to drink during the night. It is a family friendly event which includes a themed buffet, music, raffle and games to enjoy. Guests are asked to attend in fancy dress especially to be in with a chance of winning best costume. Prizes will also be on offer for the best carved pumpkin. Tickets for the event are £8 for adults and children under 12 can attend for free. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Prostate Cymru.
The pub’s second event will be a New Years party, welcoming in 2019. The event starts at 6:00pm on Monday 31st December. Tickets are £10 and include a buffet meal and karaoke. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Prostate Cymru.
