Carmarthen Quins Rugby Club hosted a special event recently to celebrate the life of committee member, Jeff Thomas.
Jeff sadly passed away from prostate cancer, so the rugby club hosted the night of entertainment in his memory and they raised over £6000 for Prostate Cymru.
Jeff was the former Scientific Support Manager at Dyfed Powys Police and had been a very popular committee member and stalwart of the Quins Club for many years.
The event was a success as an evening of entertainment, with an auction and raffle being hosted with the funds raised being donated to the charity.
The event was organised by a former colleague and close friend, Colin Lewis.
Speaking about the event he said, ““We wanted to remember Jeff with a special evening and also to raise money to help others to combat Prostate Cancer. I would like to thank all who made a contribution and to the following businesses for their kind donations. Oil 4 Wales, 3A’s Leisure, Jonathan Richards Finance Consultancy Ltd, Jon Power Finance Consultancy Ltd, Towy Works Carmarthen and to everyone who contributed to a very successful evening.”
The Chairman of Carmarthenshire Friends of Prostate Cymru Deryc Rees said, “We are very grateful for this excellent donation for Prostate Cymru which will help us to fulfil our aims of raising awareness and funding innovation”
