The Pembrokeshire Friends of Prostate Cymru were once again winners, for the second year running, when the Pembrokeshire Schools Rugby Union presented them with a cheque for £200. The young players had raised the money through sponsorship at the annual New Year’s Day Swim in Saundersfoot and presented it to committee member Judith Griffiths at their annual charity and fundraising event at the Wolfscastle Country Hotel. The guest speakers at the event were all from Pembrokeshire – former Welsh International Jonathan Thomas ,WRU Elite Coach Development manager Geraint John and current international Rob Evans with Bill Carne acting as compere. The other charity to benefit was Motor Neurone Disease.
Judith Griffiths thanked the Schools Rugby Union for their generosity and continued support for the work that is being undertaken to both raise awareness and obtain equipment in relation to a disease that affects 1 in 8 of Welshmen and claiming 550 lives annually.
