West Wales Nissan Dealer, PMS, has delivered a Nissan Micra to Prostate Cymru to help raise awareness of prostate cancer.
The car, which has received a unique and bespoke wrapper designed by Nissan and Haverfordwest’s Mobad Solutions, will be used by Prostate Cymru at their events across Wales throughout the year along with their awareness van.
1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime and every 45 minutes a man in the UK dies of prostate cancer. Prostate Cymru aims to help men in Wales by improving equipment for prostate treatments to ensure they have access to the best possible treatments available on the NHS. The charity is also working to educate men about the dangers of prostate disease and cancer to help save as many lives as possible.
The charity doesn’t receive any government funding and relies on the generosity and kindness of fundraisers and volunteers.
John Green, Director of PMS Cars, was named ‘Fundraiser of the Year’ by Prostate Cymru at their Big Celebration awards ceremony at the end of last year.
Speaking about the Nissan, Tina Tew, Chief Executive of Prostate Cymru, said:
We are beyond grateful to John Green and PMS for their support providing us with our new awareness vehicle. Throughout the years John has fundraised for the charity, winning our Fundraiser of the Year award, and his support has been invaluable. This Nissan Micra will be used to help our Awareness Team as they help fulfil one of our key aims, educating men in Wales about the dangers of prostate disease and cancer.
John Green from PMS added:
We are delighted to continue our support for Prostate Cymru. It is so important to raise awareness of a condition that affects so many men and their family and friends across Wales. My hope is that in the future there will be a national screening programme for prostate cancer. Until then, we must do everything that we can to ensure men are aware of the disease. We are pleased to be able to support Prostate Cymru’s excellent and vitally important work.
