The Porthcawl Lions Club held their annual charity golf day at The Grove Golf Club in Porthcawl on Friday 2nd June for Prostate Cymru and Porthcawl Stroke Club. This is an annual show of support for the charity by Porthcawl Lions for which we are very grateful.
Although the day started with heavy rain, improving weather throughout the day resulted in a successful event, helping to raise £1000 for both Prostate Cymru and Porthcawl Stroke Club. The winning team was The Greys closely followed in second place by The Commancheros. In the Ladies section, C Eynon’s team won the prize.
Other competitions were held on the day including longest drive, nearest the pin and The Lions Cup. D Roberts of South Wales Police and Isabel Lowe won the longest drive for the men’s and ladies’ sections accordingly. Alan Levelle won nearest the pin and the Lions Cup was awarded to Mike Hughes from Hereford Lions. The prizes were presented by the Mayor of Porthcawl Cllr Lorrie Desmond-Williams and Porthcawl Lions president Don Tickner.
Prostate Cymru would like to thank Porthcawl Lions for their continued support.
