Fundraising is a rewarding, fun and simple activity that people of all ages can engage with.
This month, Prostate Cymru is celebrating the launch of its brand new fundraising guide, an all-encompassing handbook, which will help both new and existing charity supporters.
The guide is packed full of inspiring ideas and provides information on simple techniques to bolster fundraising income.
From the importance of utilising social media, to emphasising the impact that straightforward activities such as raffles and bucket collections can have.
There is also a section dedicated to those that wish to go one step further and arrange larger events, with a summary of safe and legal considerations.
Speaking about the new fundraising guide, Prostate Cymru Chief Executive, Tina Tew, said,
“Sometimes people have a preconception that raising money needs to be complicated and time consuming, we hope that the guide will show that this is absolutely not the case.”
“Over the years we have seen an array of wonderful fundraising activities; yard sales, coffee mornings, comedy nights, raffles. We hope that the new guide will encourage new supporters but also prompt existing fundraisers to maximize opportunities. ”
“We receive no government funding, so literally every penny raised makes a difference in helping us raise awareness and improve research and services for men in Wales suffering with prostate cancer. Remember, we are tackling a disease that will affect 1 in 8 men, 1 in 3 if there is a family history, there is much work to be done. It would be impossible without our external fundraisers.”
Downloadable posters, stickers and bunting have also been incorporated into the guide, meaning fundraisers are fully armed with the relevant knowledge and items, to get them off to the best start.
