Prostate Cymru are continuing their 20th Birthday Celebrations, by lighting up a number of iconic Welsh landmarks this week to raise awareness about prostate health.
The campaign which aims to shine a light on Prostate Cancer, will see the likes of Caernarfon Castle, Pembroke Castle, Chepstow Castle, Castle Coch and the Botanical Garden, turn blue in celebration of the charities 20 year milestone, and also as a symbolic reminder of the need to open up the conversation around prostate health.
We know that every 45 minutes a man in Wales dies of prostate cancer and there is a 1 in 3 risk if there is a family link. The good news is that we also know that early diagnosis saves lives, therefore, by getting more men and families talking, they are more likely to be aware of symptoms, their risk and if over the age of 50 (45 if there is a family history) make that all important appointment with the GP for a PSA test.
