Prostate Cymru has partnered up with Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council’s Staying Well at Work project. Through the partnership, Prostate Cymru and Staying Well at Work aim to raise awareness and educate more men in Wales about their physical health and mental health.
The Staying Well at Work project is led by Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council, part funded by the European Social Fund through the Welsh Government, and aims to provide support to small businesses and their employees.
The support is offered at no cost and focussed on a bespoke range of products to improve employee Health and Wellbeing and businesses to manage employees with disabilities/work limiting health conditions.
Prostate Cymru aims to raise awareness about prostate disease throughout the partnership with Staying Well at Work, with prostate awareness sessions being held through webinars for local businesses with Prostate Cymru’s Specialist Nurse.
Staying Well at Work has helped many men in Rhondda Cynon Taf, and is continuing its support for businesses at this time.
One client said, “When I started with the project, I couldn’t see any light at the end of the tunnel, my symptoms were really affecting my mood, I was used to being active. Without the physio I do not know what I would have done. Now I have the motivation and ability to get back to normal. I think it’s been brilliant.”
