Prostate Cymru is proud to announce its official partnership with Sportin Wales, a Welsh sports media brand offering a positive outlook on sports for consumers.
Launched in 2022, Sportin Wales allows Welsh brands and businesses to associate themselves with uplifting sports stories and influential personalities from Wales.
With 1 in 5 men in Wales being diagnosed too late for a cure, this collaboration offers an invaluable platform for Prostate Cymru to engage with its target audience, leveraging the appeal of sports to spread awareness about prostate cancer and promote early detection initiatives.
Sportin Wales will further demonstrate its support for the charity by organising a series of fundraisers to fund research and innovation across Wales.
As a component of this partnership, Prostate Cymru will introduce a fresh public health initiative set to be spread throughout Wales via Route Media advertising boards. This campaign will spotlight the alarming statistics surrounding prostate cancer while furnishing crucial information tailored to men across Wales.
Speaking about the partnership, Owen Pugsley, Head of Commercial Operations, said, “We’re thrilled to formalise our partnership with Sportin Wales, an organisation that shares our commitment to making a difference in the community. Every 45 minutes, a man in the UK dies of prostate cancer, and making men aware of their risks and giving them the knowledge to make informed decisions about their health is vital. Having worked closely with Dean and the team at Route Media for several years, it’s fantastic to see our collaboration evolve into something even more impactful.”
Prostate Cymru will also showcase monthly advertisements and advertorials in Sportin Wales showcasing both fundraising and awareness, with the debut feature highlighting the thrilling launch of the Mike Phillips Golf Day.
This is the second year that the day is raising money for Prostate Cymru; last year, the day raised £22,000, a target the competitive Phillips is keen to beat.
With a lineup of sports personalities and supporters joining him on the course in previous years, including cricketers Simon Jones and Robert Croft and rugby internationals Brynmor Williams, James Hook, and Andy Powell, the day promises both competitive spirit and camaraderie.
As Phillips tees off again, he embraces the opportunity to contribute to a cause close to his heart. He encourages all to join him in supporting Prostate Cymru’s proactive prostate health awareness mission.
