Cardiff Breakfast Rotary Club presented Prostate Cymru’s Chief Executive Tina Tew and Head of Awareness Dai John with a cheque for £2052.22 at their meeting on 18th November. Contracts Manager Chris Goodfield of Tom Prichard Contracting Ltd was also in attendance as the company received a formal display of gratitude from the club. The local company based in Pontyclun kindly sponsored Cardiff Breakfast’s ride and helped to publicise the event.
The donation was the rotary club’s fundraising total for this year’s rotary ride, a national campaign to raise awareness of prostate cancer. Prostate Cymru’s Chairman Andy Thomas joined 52 other cyclists at Cardiff Breakfast rotary’s ride on 21st June. Starting at Roald Dahl Plass in Cardiff Bay, the ride offered two routes to participants: 35 miles and 60 miles.
Overall this year’s rotary ride in Wales has raised over £9000 for Prostate Cymru. Following the success of this year’s event, it has been confirmed that the rotary ride will return in 2016. Prostate Cymru is looking forward to working with Welsh rotary clubs such as Cardiff Breakfast again next year.
