The popular Rugby Legends Night returned to The Ocean Cafe, Bar and Restaurant in Broad Haven on Saturday 28th September. Titled ‘The Beasts From The East & The Best From The West’, the event featured former rugby stars sharing their tales and memories of the game. Held as the Rugby World Cup commenced in Japan, the event was also an opportunity to look forward to a month of competition and analyse Wales’ chances.
Bill Carne compered the event which featured Scrum V’s Phil Steele, British Lions Graham Price and Peter Morgan and Welsh Internationals Mark Douglas, Jonathan Griffiths and David Bishop. The interesting panel and popularity of previous charity nights saw The Ocean venue packed full of people in support of Prostate Cymru. In addition to the panel, an auction was held to raise further funds. Chairman of the Pembrokeshire Friends of Prostate Cymru Brian Harries BEM acted as the auctioneer.
The event raised an incredible £6185 for Prostate Cymru, the leading prostate health charity in Wales. Owners of The Ocean and organisers of the Rugby Legends Night, Mostyn and Kay Davies, recently invited Brian Harries and John Williams of the Pembrokeshire Friends of Prostate Cymru group to accept the cheque on behalf of the charity.
