On Tuesday 11th December Haverfordwest Services Club donated £568.75 to Prostate Cymru, the leading prostate health charity in Wales supporting men with benign prostate disease and prostate cancer. The cheque was accepted at the club on Quay Street in Haverfordwest on behalf of the charity by Dai Davies MBE and John Williams of the Pembrokeshire Friends of Prostate Cymru, a local friendship group supporting the charity through awareness and fundraising.
The funds were raised by Haverfordwest Services Club through dedicated fundraising by the club’s bar staff, entertainments committee and the support of many of its 750 members. Donations were also presented to Wales Air Ambulance and Breast Cancer Care Cymru. All three of the charities supported deliver services that have made a difference in Pembrokeshire and West Wales, often saving lives.
Present at the cheque presentation were club Chairman John James, club steward Christine Steer, club secretary Richard Howell, staff member Linda Raymond and committee members Tammy Cuff, Cora Hackett and Trisha Hall.
