South Wales Fire and Rescue Service 2020 recruits have chosen Prostate Cymru and the Fire Fighters Charity to be their chosen charities for the Passing Out Charity Day on the 19thOctober.
For the annual Passing Out Charity Day, new recruits are challenged to ride an incredible 903 miles in one day.
The challenge is split between only 10 recruits, equating to 90 miles each on watt bikes. The recruits will be taking two separate shifts to complete the challenge with 6 people riding at a time.
The charity event will be held in Cardiff Gate Training Facility on the 19thOctober, and will be following current government guidelines to make it as safe as possible.
Prostate Cymru are thrilled to be one of the chosen charities for the Passing Out Charity Day and to be working with the fire service.
Speaking about the event, Prostate Cymru’s Owen Pugsley said, “Prostate Cymru are delighted to be working with South Wales Fire and Rescue Service and to be chosen by the new recruits as one of their chosen charities and can’t wait to see their hard work on the day.”

The charity sector has been hit hard by recent events and as a result we have lost a significant amount of fundraising this year due to lockdown restrictions and social distancing measures and we aren’t through this yet.
We are so grateful to the South Wales Fire and Rescue Service for investing time and money into helping us save the males in Wales.
