Gavin Lewis, a healthcare worker from Bridgend, completed the 10K race at the St David’s Day Run on Sunday 28th February in Cardiff. Gavin, who described the event as “an amazing experience”, finished the run with an impressive time of fifty-eight minutes and eleven seconds.
Gavin has received great support from his friends and family who have kindly donated to Prostate Cymru via his JustGiving page (https://www.justgiving.com/GavinLewis-10K/). The encouragement spurred Gavin on during the run as he “dug deep, ran hard and fast and smashed the course”.
A former member of the Royal regiment of Wales and the Royal Hampshire regiment, Gavin is now a healthcare worker in Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend and often works alongside Prostate Cymru’s Chairman Andy Thomas. Gavin decided to combine his New Year’s resolution to get fit with fundraising for the charity. It appears Gavin has now caught the running bug as he will be taking on the World Half Marathon in Cardiff on Saturday 26th March for Prostate Cymru for which we are very grateful!
