Steffan Roberts from Bridgend took part in his third Spartan race for Prostate Cymru this year. Steffan tackled the Spartan Beast near London on 27th September and completed the challenging course in a brilliant 4 hours and 24 minutes.
The Spartan Beast is the ultimate Spartan race: 14 miles with up to 35 tough obstacles. Spartan Races are an alternative to road races and marathons, usually taking place in areas of rough terrain and featuring several challenging obstacles such as crawling under barbed wire, running through mud and jumping over fire!
In June this year, Steffan took part in two Spartan Races in Powys, the Sprint (5 miles) and Super (10 miles), on the same day with just a short break between the two to rest. Steffan completed both races with impressive times: the sprint in one hour and seven seconds and the super race in two hours and thirty-nine minutes.
Steffan decided to take on this extremely physical challenge to raise awareness and help support prostate cancer sufferers. You can still support Steffan via his JustGiving page: www.justgiving.com/SteffanRoberts-Spartan
