On 20th June, Steffan Roberts took part in two Spartan Races in aid of Prostate Cymru.
Steffan, from Bridgend, decided to take on the Spartan Races to raise awareness and help support prostate cancer sufferers. Spartan Races are an alternative to road races and marathons, usually taking place in areas of rough terrain and featuring several challenging obstacles such as crawling under barbed wire, running through mud and jumping over fire!
The races were held in Glanusk Park, Powys. Steffan took part in both the Spartan Sprint (5 miles) and the Spartan Super (10 miles) with only a short break to rest between the two. Steffan completed both races with impressive times: the sprint in one hour and seven seconds and the super race in two hours and thirty-nine minutes.
Not content with completing the two South Wales races, Steffan is now training for the ultimate Spartan Race, the Beast (14 miles with up to 35 obstacles). Steffan’s next race will take place on 27th September. Support Steffan today via his JustGiving page: www.justgiving.com/SteffanRoberts-Spartan/
