Construction company T Richard Jones Ltd donated an impressive £1935 to Prostate Cymru, the leading prostate health charity in Wales, on Monday 9th December. The funds, presented to awareness volunteer Andy Brown, were raised through a sponsored walk held in Pembrokeshire earlier this year and The Big Breakfast in November.
T Richard Jones are a family run and owned business specialising in construction, demolition and civil engineering services. The firm was established by carpenter Thomas Richard Jones in 1935 who took on a number of building projects in West Wales. Generations of Thomas’ descendants have joined the business over the years and have had active roles in the company. Today T Richard Jones Ltd has an extensive client base and employ over 50 staff and operatives.
In addition to fundraising, the company have been keen to raise awareness of prostate issues such as benign prostate disease and prostate cancer. Volunteer Andy Brown, a member of the Carmarthenshire Friends of Prostate Cymru group, visited T Richard Jones Ltd’s head office in Ammanford in October to provide an awareness talk which was received very well by those in attendance. Further talks have now been planned for the company’s sites in Llanelli and Birchgrove, Swansea in January 2020.
