Next year Team Ace of Blades will be taking on the huge challenge of rowing The Atlantic.
The team will be completing the 3000 nautical miles on their boat the Shelby Wright, as they raise money for Prostate Cymru, Macmillan and The Outbound Trust.
The girls will be rowing The Atlantic as part of the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge.
They will be setting off from La Gomera, the Canary Islands, and finishing in Antigua, and will be taking on this challenge completely unsassisted for the 3000 mile crossing.
Speaking about this incredible challenge, Grace said, “I am thrilled to be working alongside Prostate Cymru again to raise essential funds to help prevent and treat prostate cancer in Wales. The team at PC has been nothing but supportive and regularly engages with our campaign by sharing our social media posts, donating raffle prizes or discussing fundraising ideas with us.”
She continued, “With so many new skills to learn, every step of this journey is an exciting one, and that’s before we even start the race! The team recently completed all of their compulsory RYA qualifications, so we are raring to go once our boat Shelby arrives from Antigua this spring. When she does, our training will really ramp up, and we’ll spend as much time on board to make sure we know the boat inside out.”
The team are aiming to raise an astounding £60,000 to split between the charities.

Another member of the team, Laura said, “I’m really excited for the journey that will get us to the start line in December 2023, and all of the fundraising and planning we have ahead of us. Following our Ocean Rowing Course, I am also incredibly eager to start all of the physical and mental training that will prepare us for the difficulties we will face out in the ocean.”
You can follow their training and challenge over on their social media, @teamaceofblades.
We are so grateful to everyone who fundraises for us, and we can’t wait to see more of the girls training and see them take on the challenge next Decemeber.
