The Big Walk 2018 was Prostate Cymru’s biggest walk to date with an incredible 462 participants braving the heat and taking on the physical and mental challenge of trekking 30 miles from the Principality Stadium, Cardiff to Kenfig Hill RFC, Bridgend on Saturday 30th June. This year’s event, celebrating five years of The Big Walk, also saw a record number of corporate, social and sports teams take on the challenge.
Walkers aimed to raise money for the charity through their participation in the event, fundraising in their local community, at work and online via JustGiving. Thanks to the efforts of the 462 walkers and the generosity of their friends, family and colleagues The Big Walk 2018 has raised a record £63,906.47.
The total was revealed in Cardiff on Friday 19th October by Welsh rugby star Sam Warburton OBE who officially started this year’s walk and the charity’s President David Brace OBE. The running total since 2014 for The Big Walk is £196208.03.
