Tom Evans, Captain of Cwmrhydneuadd Golf Club at Pentregat in Ceredigion chose to fundraise for Welsh charity, Prostate Cymru, in 2019.
The club raised an incredible £1,617.60 for Prostate Cymru through various activities throughout 2019.
We would like to thank all the members and outside sponsors who helped Tom fundraise and we are so grateful to have been the chosen charity for the captain of Cwmrhydneuadd Golf Club, 2019.
Tom Evans said, “Each year the captain of Cwmrhydneuadd Golf Club at Pentregat in Ceredigion chooses their own charity that they would like to support and they then hold activities/events to raise money for that particular charity.”
“I decided on Prostate Cymru as I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer two years ago and had my prostate removed via robotic surgery at Heath Hospital Cardiff.”
With one in eight men affected by prostate cancer, which becomes one in three if there is a family history, prostate cancer remains the biggest cause of death in Welsh men.
However, if caught early, men have a 98 per cent chance of survival.
This valuable donation will contribute greatly to help fund the Prostate Cymru awareness programme along with other important initiatives carried out by the charity.
