Vale of Glamorgan MP Alun Cairns took part in the Ride 100 London-Surrey event on Sunday 2nd August in aid of Prostate Cymru.
Mr Cairns joined hundreds of cyclists in London for a brisk 7am start on Sunday for the 100-mile route made famous during the 2012 London Olympics. The Vale MP pedalled past his Westminster office on the long distance route that he completed in 8 hours 40 minutes.
Mr Cairns said: “It was a gruelling challenge. I have done some long distance cycle rides before, for example from London to Paris but this was very tough. I had so much support locally during the London Marathon, and I am really grateful for the support I received.
“However, this was the first big trip I’ve done on two wheels this year – I have certainly felt it in my legs this week. It was for a really good cause in Prostate Cymru, so I was determined to get over the finishing line.”
