On Wednesday 8th August the team headed to the Vale of Glamorgan Show at Fonmon Castle near Barry to raise awareness of prostate issues as part of the charity’s summer roadshow. Urology nurse Gaynor Newton and awareness volunteer Ian Norton joined the charity’s Owen Pugsley and Hannah Reynolds to speak to attendees about their prostate health.
Gaynor and Ian spoke to several people who wanted to know more about prostate diseases such as benign prostate disease and prostate cancer and gave advice to those suffering with prostate issues. Owen spoke to local radio station Bro Radio about his journey from fundraiser to employee, events and the work that the charity does.
The team battled strong winds and extreme showers at the event, a stark change to the dry, hot weather we have experienced recently. The Vale of Glamorgan Show featured amazing local food and drink stands, extreme sheep shearing and a prestigious dog show.
